First Tuesdays

For children and their families

General admission to the Museum is free on the first Tuesday of every month. First Tuesday programming is specifically designed for children ages five and under, but all ages are welcome. Enjoy thematic art-making activities, story times, performances, and gallery activities.

Say hello to Arturo, the Museum’s family mascot. Don’t forget to write him a letter!

The David Chicken Live Show Spectacular!
11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Experience a heart-pounding, floor-stomping, singing and dancing event with Emmy-award winner David Chicken. Learn how to “Scakle,” do the chicken dance, and watch Super Chachie, the Amazing Trick Chihuahua. After the show, meet David and get a free autographed poster.

Yogiños: Yoga for Youth presented by the Crow Collection of Asian Art
Noon–1:30 p.m., Tech Lab, C3
Join certified yoga instructors and staff from the Crow Collection of Asian Art in a mini-session for kids that weaves together original art, music, games, stories, and yoga poses. Sessions begin every fifteen minutes and space is limited.

Birds of a Feather family tour
12:30–1:00 p.m., Meet at the C3 entrance
Grab your bird-watching gear and help us search for our feathered friends in the galleries during this interactive family-friendly tour.

story time with the Dallas Public Library
1:00–1:30 p.m., C3 Theater
Listen to enchanting stories told by our librarian friends and participate in an Every Child Ready to Read mini-workshop.

1:30–2:00 p.m., C3 Theater
Join award-winning storyteller Ann Marie Newman for stories and songs based on works in the Museum’s collection.
 


The Atrium Cafe Welcomes First Tuesday Families!

Featuring the Little Artists' Collection for $5.25 with a choice of Mac ’n’ Cheese, Cheeseburger Cupcake Surprise, Fluffer Nutter Quesadilla, or Turkey and Cheese Tea Sandwiches. Meals include fresh apple slices and choice of mini bottled water, juice box, or milk.
